Reverse engineering Sofia Coppola's Imaginary World

"Lick the star" by Sofia Copeland, personally the black and white perspective points it out more. It's as if this is what she would want her imaginary world to look like. This somewhat relates to one of the Keri Smith's prompts that involves that actual photo and images that make her imaginary world come to life. That seems to be through a black and white perspective. Which it seems like not a perfect world as most would think a world away from reality would be but this seems to have a yin and yang type of vibe. Take the bad when its bad and you take in the good when everything is fine. The narrator seems to be a guide for us as we enter her imaginary world or the world that she lives in. We are getting other point of views but we still are reflecting back to what the Narrator is telling us.

Sophia seems to have a lot of interesting characters within her database which then were transported into her video essay. These characters seem to be dark characters who have one goal in mind to "lick the star". This represents maybe a very dark version of the high school experience and somewhat goes along with every other origin of how a cult starts. On the picture on the right it might not be as extreme as a cult, but it seems close enough. Maybe the black and white perspective makes it seem more dark.

This film definitely applies the Mooreeffoc Effect to our world, as it represents a lot of dark hidden things within our reality. The fact that the girls seem to have form a pact or cult, just shows how vulnerable young minds are when convinced by someone who they see as superior. Also, how people can really just overlook things and be oblivious to there surroundings. It also seems to hit a serious topic about suicide and how that can result from bullying. To add on that, how tables can turn quickly in a way where the villain becomes a victim if a huge group of people are convinced.
