3 podcast (Poetic Podcast)
As I am developing ideas to construct a podcast, the basis of my podcast will follow along the lines of poetry. I want to use poetics because this is where my interest are., When i searched for poetry podcast, I found Faber poetry podcast which was on spotify. Its produce by Rachel Allen, Jack Underwood, and Hannah Marshall for Faber & Faber. The first episode they read poems from Ocean Vuong and various other poetic authors. The two guest that they brought on were told to bring an important item with them. I liked this aspect of it because it gives a back story to the writers work and shows why they have the writing style they use. This gives a deeper meaning to poetry, that it's not the writers work that makes the writer but i'ts who they are that makes the work. I love the intro as it has a chill vibe to it. I think reading the poems aloud really shows the effectiveness of the language of poetry. It offers a modernization of poetry and makes it easy to listen to. Its very relaxing to listen to and I look forward to follow this kind of style.
Another podcast that I found was interesting people reading poetry. In each episode people who are artists, comedians you name it read there favorite poems and explains why it is important to them. It still follows along the lines of the first podcast that I shared but I seem to like this kind of style. They don't just read these poems and that all but they discuss but it's not just writers reading them which makes it interesting to listen to. One of the episodes that pointed out to me was one with marry Mack who is a comedian. She shares a poem called "attention please! attention please!" which she heard this poem back in her schooling days. Then after she got done sharing this she explains why the poem was important to her. As I stated before this is very intriguing as it displays that not just writers read poetry. Poetry can come from anywhere and anyone. This still has that laid back style as they have guess who read poems that relate to them and you can learn a lot about people and the poems they choose to share. Honestly with these type of style I might use this because I can have various students or even some of my friends who aren't humanity majors read a specific poem they like and share why it's important to them. No matter what everyone at least during elementary or even middle school and high school have read some form of poetry. This is definitely something I might be interesting in doing when making my podcast.
Last but not least, Good Poetry was also one of the podcast that I think follows along the lines of my idea. It might be a little basic compared to the other podcast. As it tries to answer what is good poetry. It's like a guide book for people who are interesting in poetry and people who are new to poetry. It has a monotone vibe but it still shares the fact that they not only talk about poems but invites other writers as they share there work. Its different than the other ones because the narrator talks a lot but it still has the interview aspect to it. So its that personal narrative and then shifts to an interview. But other than that still a good idea to have that personal narrative then shift to an interview.
