This shows how the main character wants to reach success and do the best he can do for him and his family.


This photo represents how they're major obstacles and distractions that will come along within the main character community. Especially things that involve people who look like him, showing hate towards one another.


Since mass incarceration is a huge problem in america this is another factor that is very common in the neighborhood the main character lives in. People are getting arrested from left to right.



This is the aftermath of how mass incarceration can leave families split a part. The main character has to see visit his father while he is in prison.



The crabs in the bucket theory shows how the black community can be detrimental to itself due from gang violence and always trying to put one another down. The main character will experience this from people trying to put him down because he wants better for himself.



Protest against police are going on around this time and the main character is heavily involved in this movement to stop police violence against blacks.



Another pic of the movement that is trying to promote change in the world the main character lives in.



The main character finally runs away from all the negative, all the doubters and strives to be the best self he can be.



Strives to convince himself and the people in his community that they are not limited to what society says, life is limitless.



Graduates high school and is going to a top university with a full academic scholarship. Through everything he has finally reach success.

" Lick the star " by Sofia Copeland, personally the black and white perspective points it out more. It's as if this is what she would want her imaginary world to look like. This somewhat relates to one of the Keri Smith's prompts that involves that actual photo and images that make her imaginary world come to life. That seems to be through a black and white perspective. Which it seems like not a perfect world as most would think a world away from reality would be but this seems to have a yin and yang type of vibe. Podcast reflection and podcast link

Regarding my podcast it was very interesting to create. It was the first time ever that I recorded myself speaking with others about something that I’m passionate about. Usually I hate hearing myself after I recorded my voice but that was a comfort zone I had to get out of. Developing a script for the podcast was cool as well but it helped a lot, so I might not sound scripted. Other than that, I felt like I did alright regarding dialog and just to keep things interested in the listener. As there aren’t many podcasts about poetry, it was great to be a part of a genre that there should be podcast for. Many people might think it’s just people reading poetry, but its more than that. Connecting to any who is interested in poetry is the goal. I think the podcast format is not necessarily the best format for poetry, but it can be something that can be a part of hopefully the expansion of this genre on all platforms.
